Following the public notification process of our consent application, Hoppers had taken a personal approach to speaking with submitters and addressing their concerns. This worked well for us, and we went into the hearing with no submitters wishing to be heard. The local community has been welcoming, with lots of support and words of encouragement, particularly those nearby neighbours who understand the public good we are trying to avail via access to the coast, parks, open space and walking tracks, etc.   

Last week we had some positive news following our Resource Consent hearing that took place earlier this month. We were lucky to work with commissioners whom were collaborative and sensible. Together we reached an agreement which allows us to commence with our comprehensive plans for development at Hobbs Bay. We expect to receive Resource Consent very shortly and will soon after commencing with our Earthworks schedule.

Some may have seen some activity on site starting to happen, this is our construction team gearing up in preparation to start with the Earthworks program in the New Year.

During 2024 we plan on developing the first stage of sections and make preparations for the future stages which will include the historic home planned for a public Café.

Revision: As of 21st November 2023, we have received Resource Consent and will continue commencing with our planned schedule of works.
